Xiongnu culture in Mongolia
Between 1300 and 500 BC, the steppes of Mongolia were the backdrop to the flourishing Xiongnu culture. During this period, the Xiongnu rose as a powerful and dominant nomadic group. One of your ancestors might have been a skilled hunter or a wandering trader crossing these vast lands on his sturdy steed. Another of your ancestors could have been a shaman, passing down oral tales and rituals that would echo through the generations.
