Welsh Neolithic
5000-3000BC
United Kingdom
From 5000 to 3000 BC, the Welsh Neolithic began with the introduction of farming, marking a radical shift from the nomadic practices of the Mesolithic. Early farming communities began to emerge, and deforestation to create farmlands became more common. The Welsh of this time started experimenting with domestication of animals and growing grains, laying the groundwork for future generations. The building of megalithic monuments and burial sites also came into evidence, reflecting a growth in religious and ritual practices.
